Grebe's Nest floats on the stunning Home water lake and can only be accessed via a floating pontoon, which you pull across yourself from the pontoon onshore.

Grebe's Nest offers a unique and tranquil living experience by the waterside. The floating curved pod provides a serene retreat, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the lake from the comfort of your open-plan living space.

As you arrive, you'll load up the platform by the dock, gently pull the rope which allows you to drift over the water to your new home. The pod is designed to be stable, so you can relax and enjoy the gentle rocking motion without any worries.

Inside the pod, you'll find a cosy double bed at the back, offering picturesque views of the lake. The lounge area features a comfy sofa, and armchair and the kitchen is equipped with a microwave, fridge, and even underfloor heating throughout. Additionally, there's a BBQ out on the deck, allowing you to cook and dine while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.and enjoying the antics of the abundant birdlife.

If you're a fly fishing enthusiast, you can try your hand at catching a trout right from your floating abode. Just bring your fishing rod and enjoy the experience of preparing and savoring incredibly fresh food. Alternately you could book a lesson with one of our recommended instructors who will be sure to get you catching.

While the showers and bathrooms are shared with other guests staying at the campsite, you'll find that your lake views remain undisturbed, providing a sense of privacy and tranquility.

Beyond the immediate surroundings of Grebe's Nest, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained. You can row around the lake, rent bikes to explore the area, or indulge in a relaxing massage or yoga session provided on-site. For a longer adventure, you can venture along the Blackwater Estuary, reach the sea wall, or visit the quaint and quiet town of Maldon. If you're a seafood lover, you can head to Mersea Island, known for its excellent seafood restaurants.
