For those of us who know Maldon and the surrounding countryside, it comes as little surprise. Sitting alongside the River Blackwater, Maldon is a place where history, nature, food and the great outdoors come together.
A town shaped by the River Blackwater
One of Maldon's defining features is its relationship with the water.
The Blackwater Estuary provides a spectacular backdrop to the town and surrounding landscape, with changing tides creating an ever-changing scene.
